Charles joined Entropie in 1984, having been chemical engineer at the Hao desal plant in French Polynesia, after which he was involved in all Entropie's desalination work. As a project manager, he handled the first Entropie MED contracts over 6,000m³/d. His design role continued through the Weir and Veolia takeovers, in which phases he was Technical Director.

Charles eventually moved, iin 2007, to Aquatech, as Director of Thermal Desalination in the division that had been Aquachem. He has expanded their thermal desalination portfolio to a strong presence across the board, including a successful bid for the Abu Qir power plant MED contract in Egypt.
